Social Media Week Mumbai is the latest talk of the town. Social Media Week Mumbai is a Global Social Media Event which happens twice every year(i.e in February and September). SMW Mumbai is still into the shell as it is keeping its first feet in Mumbai on 23rd September, and R Square Consulting Services is responsible for it.

I came across SMW Mumbai and was amazed by the scale of the event as a whole. The Sole objective of this event is to bring people, organizations and communities from different walks of life together, under one roof with a purpose to learn, share and collaborate. Now this is something social and benificial for everyone. Sounds interesting, doesn't it?

Nokia being their City headline sponsors, they are definitely in for a Big bang in Mumbai, this September. They seem to be calling out different brands to participate in SMW Mumbai, and why not? They are going on the right track with regards to calling it a collaborative event.

After a tracking them for quiet a few time, I managed to find an info-graphic on what everyone can expect from SMW Mumbai.

Google – The Ultimate Search Engine : Guest Post

It is very evident that Google has evolved over the years and now stands as the ultimate search engine. Over the years, Google has been serving as the number one search engine, leaving behind the likes of Yahoo and Bing. The features that new improved Google provides are way above the rest.
Let’s see what all features; the ultimate search engine has to offer.

1. Normal Search:

Google has simple searching mechanism that is provided by all the search engines. There is nothing new in this part of the search results. No new provisions provided.
Below is a snapshot of Google’s normal search results.

2. Advance Search :

This is where Google roles out its features that catches everyone’s eyes. This advance search has several more searching filters that help the users get the most accurate result for what they are looking for.
These advanced features make the user searching process, very easy. The rolled out features include:

Showing Visited Sites:
This feature shows only the previously visited sites for a given search term. In case if the user had found some good quality results for a particular search term in the past, he now has a provision to search for only the previously visited sites for the respective search term.

Showing Non-Visited Sites:

This feature only gives the sites that the user has never visited before. This feature mainly comes handy when the user wants to find information from the sites that he/she has never visited before.

Finding the pages of a particular origin:
We used to get results for a particular search term from across the whole Web. It is not the same now. With this feature, user has an option to choose pages belonging to his country specifically. For e.g. If you are from India, you get a provision to choose the sites only from India in your search results.

Finding only the sites that have images:
This is one of the simple features from the search engine giant, which helps a user to find only the sites that has images in them, for the particular search term. People often tend to understand information with the use of images, and here you go!

Finding the dictionary meaning for a searched term:
Gone are those days, when you used to find the dictionary meaning for a particular word in different sites. With this new feature, Google makes it very easy for the user to find the dictionary meaning for a particular searched term.

Finding the reading level for a particular searched term:
Now this one feature becomes very interesting by Google. When you opt for this filtration, you get to know what the reading levels are for the particular search term. It shows how much percentage of users fall under the three different categories (Beginner, Intermediate, Advance).

Finding the sites that are translated from different languages:
Suppose you want to know some information for a particular term, from the site that might be created on foreign languages, you can still translate them and get your information. This feature comes pretty handy when you are desperate in collecting information from a wide range of sources.

Finding the verbatim:
This feature is enables you to find only those sites in the search results, which matches the verbatim of the particular searched term.

Enabling a city wide search:
This feature is enables you to perform a city wide search on Google for the particular search term.

Finding information that was posted during a particular period:
By far this one is the most useful eye-catching feature of all, the periodic listing feature. Google allows you to set a time frame for a particular search term. It can be any time, for e.g. the origin of within the past hour, past 24 hours, past week, past month or between any custom ranges of time. Only the contents with the origin falling under your time frame are listed.

Qyuki – The First ever Social Networking Site for Creativity

December 5, 2012 marks the birth of the first ever social networking site dedicated to creativity. The new social networking site is named Qyuki. 2 of India’s great talents viz. Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman, being the founders of Qyuki, the site indeed had to be focusing on creativity.

You can talk a lot about this newly launched social networking site (SNS).The SNS is very user-friendly. It’s very peculiar when it comes to liking and commenting the users’ creations. Its new concept on liking a creation lies in the form of Emotions.

Set of Emotions that Qyuki provides.

The creator’s Emotions, mentioned below they creations.

The Emotions that users share while reading/viewing the creation.

People often create something new only when they are provoked to do so. This might be any incident. The SNS gives a provision to add an emotion that provoked a user to create his creation. This gives the others, an idea about the situation in which the creation was created. Similarly the SNS has a provision for the readers/viewers to react to a certain creation with emotions, that they felt while reading/viewing the creation.
With celebrities like Chetan Bhagat, Imtiaz Ali and a few more, the SNS has taken a very strong stand to promote the creativity that lies inside everyone.

There is so much to explore and interact in the SNS that, I don’t have much words to describe it. I am pretty excited as to what the SNS has to offer me. Don’t miss out in trying it out! Hurry up and showcase your creativity on Qyuki. Hope it goes a long way ahead.

The Shivam Maruti Treasure Hunt

The Treasure Hunt is organized on a Sunday keeping in mind, the professionals to also take part in the campaign. Treasure Hunt covers the areas from Malad to Borivali. It is basically a team event consisting of 5 members (including the captain). All you have to do to win the Treasure Hunt is to crack the clues in order to reach the checkpoint and find a pluck card. Once you complete finding all the pluck cards from their respective checkpoints, you have to return to the destination and match a pluck cards with their answers. The team that finishes the entire given task ends up wining the Treasure Hunt.
The agency has plans to make everyone happy, by providing incentives to all the participants. There are lots to bag in this Treasure Hunt campaign, and definitely excites me. Moreover, they also have some more on-spot events happening during the campaign. So it stays a win win situation for everyone who participates.  I wish them all success for their campaign, and hope that it ends up being a successful campaign.
So, what are you waiting for? Hurry up before you meet the deadline for registration. Wish you luck to win it.
